Privacy Policy

Introduction

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy covers the collection, use, and disclosure of information we collect through our website, www.Magnalytix.com and associated marketing technology platforms.

Relevant Legislation

Along with our business and internal computer systems, this website is designed to comply with the following national and international legislation with regards to data protection and user privacy:

This site’s compliance with the above legislation, which is stringent in nature, means that this site is likely compliant with the data protection and user privacy legislation set out by many other countries and territories as well. If you are unsure about whether this site is compliant with your own country of residences’ specific data protection and user privacy legislation, you should contact our data protection officer (below) for clarification.

The Information We Collect

We do not collect personally identifiable information about you – such as your name, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, etc – unless you email or otherwise contact us directly.

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser operating system, and the domain name of your Internet service provider, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you, but Google does not grant us access to this information. We consider Google to be a third-party data processor.

We do automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information when you visit our site – such as the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, and the domain name of your Internet service provider.

How We Normally Use Information About You

We use non-personally identifiable information to analyze site usage (analytics), which allows us to improve the design and content of our site. In the ordinary course, we use personally identifiable information you provide solely to respond to your inquiry or to process an application form you have completed on various sections of our Web site.

Any data gathered may be shared, if appropriate, with any of Magnalytix's subsidiaries throughout the world, and any third parties who provide services on our behalf. Personal Information which users in the European Union (EU) provide to us may be transferred to other countries (including the United States), the data protection laws of which may differ from those of the EU, and you expressly agree to such transfer by use of our website.

Collection of Information by Third-Party Sites

Our site includes links to other Web sites whose privacy practices may differ from those of Magnalytix. If you submit personal information to any of those sites, your information is governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any web site you visit.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of our website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse our website and also allows us to improve our site. We may use cookies in the following ways:

  • Where they are essential to make our site work.
  • To enable the personalization features on our site (which give you the ability to recall recently viewed pages and see information which you have input online).
  • Through Google Analytics, to compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow us to understand how visitors use our site and to help us improve the structure of our site. We cannot identify you personally in this way.

By continuing to use our website, you agree to our placing cookies on your computer in order to analyze the way you use our site. If you do not wish to accept cookies in connection with your use of this website, you must stop using our site. You have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings in your browser; however, you may not be able to use all the interactive features of our site if cookies are disabled.

Resource Request and Contact Forms

Should you choose to contact us using a request for a Technical Paper or other resource available on our website or via the contact form on our Contact Us page, or an email link, none of the data that you supply will be stored on this website or passed to/be processed by any third-party processors defined below. Instead, the data will be collated into an email and sent to us over the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Our own SMTP servers are protected by TLS (sometimes known as SSL) meaning that the email content is encrypted using SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography before being sent across the Internet. The email content is then decrypted by our local computers and devices, however, not all mail servers are secured in such a way. Therefore, we would suggest that you always consider email as an insecure medium and not include personal, confidential or otherwise sensitive information within an email.

The email address that you submit to us will be forwarded to Act-On who provides us with email marketing services. We consider Act-On to be a third-party data processor (see Third-Party Data Processor section below). The email address that you submit will not be stored within this website’s own database or in any of our internal computer systems.

Your email address will remain within Act-On’s database for as long as we continue to use Act-on’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email that we send you or by requesting removal via email. When requesting removal via emails, please send your email to us using the email account that is subscribed to the mailing list. While your email address remains within the Act-On database, you will receive periodic email communications from us.

User Rights

As a user of this website, you have a right to know whether your personally identifiable information has been stored by Magnalytix and may request its removal from our systems. Requests should be sent to the Data Controller by email, using the contact information set out above. This application does not support “Do Not Track” requests.

In general, Magnalytix does not share, rent, sell or otherwise intentionally disclose your personally identifiable information outside of Magnalytix, the following circumstances excepted:

  • when Magnalytix has a legal requirement to do so, such as in response to a court order, subpoena or a law enforcement agency’s request;
  • in court or in the stages leading to possible legal action arising from your improper use of this website or related services.

By use of our website, you declare to be aware that Magnalytix may be legally obligated to reveal your personally identifiable information upon the request of public authorities.
